What is GRE?
The full meaning of GRE is “Graduate Record Examination”. Taking the GRE is an important step toward your future, whether you are planning to go to graduate school or business school or just exploring your options. It is a smart move to show schools your best.
 
Who Administers The GRE?
The US-based “Educational Testing Service”(ETS), develops and administers the GRE test. ETS is responsible for setting questions, conducting the test and sending score reports.
 
ABOUT GRE REVISED GENERAL TEST
The GRE revised General Test features question types that closely reflect the kind of thinking you’ll do in graduate or business school.
• Verbal Reasoning — Measures your ability to analyze and evaluate written material and synthesize information obtained from it, analyze relationships among component parts of sentences and recognize relationships among words and concepts.
• Quantitative Reasoning — Measures problem-solving ability, focusing on basic concepts of arithmetic, algebra, geometry and data analysis.
• Analytical Writing — Measures critical thinking and analytical writing skills.

Who Takes The GRE Revised Test?
Prospective graduate and business school applicants from all around the world who are interested in pursuing a master’s, MBA, specialized master’s in business, J.D. degree, or doctoral degree take the GRE General Test. Applicants come from varying educational and cultural backgrounds and the GRE General Test provides schools with a common measure for comparing candidates’ qualifications.
GRE scores are used by admissions or fellowship panels to supplement your undergraduate records, recommendation letters and other qualifications for graduate-level study.
 
When and Where Do People Take The GRE Revised General Test?
The GRE General Test is available at more than 1,000 test centers in more than 160 countries. In most regions of the world, the computer-delivered test is available on a continuous basis throughout the year. In Mainland China; Hong Kong, China; Taiwan, China; and Korea, the computer-delivered test is available up to three times per month. In areas of the world where computer-delivered testing is not available, the paper-delivered test is available up to three times a year in October, November and February.
 
Who Accepts GRE Revised General Test?
The GRE General Test is accepted at thousands of graduate schools, including business and law, as well as departments and divisions within these schools. View a listing of institutions and fellowship sponsors approved to receive GRE scores.
 
How Long Does It Take to Get My GRE Scores?
Computer-delivered Test:
At the end of your test you will be asked if you want to Report (view) or Cancel your scores. If you select Report, you will view your unofficial Verbal Reasoning and Quantitative Reasoning scores at the test center; however, because of the essay scoring process, you will not view your Analytical Writing score at that time. About 10–15 days after your test date, your official scores will be available in your ETS Account and sent to the score recipients you designated on test day.
Paper-delivered Test:
About five weeks after your test date, your official scores will be available in your ETS Account and will be sent to the score recipients you designated during registration.
How Many Years Is My GRE Score Valid?
The GRE test score is valid up to five (5) years from the date obtained before they expire.
 

About the GRE® Subject Tests

 
What Are the Subject Tests?
The GRE® Subject Tests are achievement tests that measure your knowledge of a particular field of study which shows what you know about a specific subject and graduate schools will take notice. The Subject Tests can help you stand out from other applicants by emphasizing your knowledge and skill level in a specific area.
 
Each Subject Test is intended for students who have an undergraduate major or extensive background in one of these six disciplines:
Note: The GRE Biochemistry, Cell and Molecular Biology Test was discontinued in December 2016. Scores will continue to be reportable per GRE score reporting policy.

GRE Subject Test scores are used by admissions or fellowship panels to supplement your undergraduate records, recommendation letters and other qualifications for graduate-level study. Some Subject Tests yield sub scores that can indicate the strengths and weaknesses in an individual student’s preparation and may also be useful for guidance and placement purposes.
 
Where and When Do People Take Them?
The Subject Tests are given at paper-delivered test centers worldwide three times a year, in:
  • September
  • October
  • April
Who Accepts Them?
GRE Subject Test scores are accepted by thousands of graduate schools, including individual departments or divisions within these schools. Although the scores may not be a requirement for admission to a particular program, admissions committees are likely to consider the scores if they are submitted. It’s best to contact the specific graduate program you’re interested in and inquire about their requirements.

How to Register?
Registration forms are available in our office; therefore hurry up and register. You can also download a paper version CLICK HERE or complete an online version of the exam registration form CLICK HEREIt is recommended that you register for the exam well in advance so as not to be disappointed. The seats at the key test centres are limited and allotted on first come first served basis. Most of the students plan to appear in the months of September to December. If you wish to appear for the exam during the same time and you wish to be allotted the date and centre of your choice, you should register well in advance.
